Chapter Nine

Booker’s heavy body comes down over mine as my eyes flutter open. I’m pinned beneath him, and my body hums with happiness. A tingle radiates across my skin, and never in my life have I felt this way before. I’m as light as a cloud, and the only thing keeping me grounded is him.

That’s the last thing I need. The gossip would spread through town like wildfire, and I can already picture the assumptions people would make.
